Comedy of Errors

Comedy of Errors is the story of Stewart Little, a boy who grows up with some handicaps that might have led him to failure as an adult, but which actually propel him to a successful career as an innovative and renowned cartoonist and graphic novelist. Stewart began life without any obvious physical or mental flaws, but was given a name at birth that was similar to that of a mouse-like fictional child created by the essayist E.B White for a book written the year before Stewart’s birth. It was not until Stewart reached middle school in the ‘60s that he was ridiculed by a classmate familiar with the children’s story and who nicknamed him “Mouse,” at precisely the same time that an undiagnosed learning disorder kicked in, which led to failures in school and contributed to a decline in Stewart’s grades and self-esteem. The story takes the reader on Stewart’s pathway from a childhood of poverty and aimlessness, as he stumbles awkwardly with little assistance to forge a successful career and become an innovator in the arts. Comedy of Errors is about persistence, passion and survival, and the ways humans can change the course of their lives by making positive use of their failings as well as of their assets, their loves lost as well as those that blossom, and hopes dashed as well as those fulfilled, to attain fortunes that are often far richer than those achieved by individuals blessed with perfect genetics, wealth, and opportunities. About George H. Rothacker

Since 1978, George Rothacker has owned Rothacker Advertising & Design, a firm specializing in creating coordinated marketing campaigns using multimedia and many of his own paintings and illustrations. He has also built a national reputation as a painter, and has used his skills to raise money from many non profits throughout Pennsylvania including: The Media Theatre, Hedgrow Theatre, The Jimmy Stewart Museum, The Radnor Library, Eastern University, The Main Line Art Center, Community Arts Center, The Media Fellowship House, the Chester Charter School for the Arts and the Radnor High School Scholarship Fund. As a writer, photographer, and film editor Mr. Rothacker has produced many documentaries including “America in Black and White and Many Colors,” a history of discrimination and diversity in the United States, “Words of the Heart,” the story of Thomas Garrett and his great, great niece Dorothy Biddle James (narrated by Bill Whitaker of “60 Minutes”), who both fought for human rights throughout their lives, and a video bio of the actor Jimmy Stewart entitled “Always Be Nice to People” (narrated by Stewart’s daughter Kelly Harcourt Stewart.) Since 2019 George has written 7 speculative novels, 2 semibiographical novels and an autobiography titled, The Diverse Artistic Universe of George H. Rothacker, George lives in Villanova, Pennsylvania with his wife Barbara, his muse and also a professional communications designer.
